I got an offer from Arc - TC: 14 Bangalore and I've accepted that. I recently got an offer from Amazon - TC: 20 Gurugram I'm concerned about work pressure at Amazon but at the same time the pay difference is considerable. (Work location isn't a huge problem for me, although, I prefer bangalore) 1. Is there a possibility to renegotiate my offer at Arc? Has anyone done that? Please share your exp! 2. Which of the two is best considering career growth, learning opportunities, and work pressure? #Amazon #offer #Arcesium #bangalore #India
Switching teams at Amazon is really easy. Also, you won't have too much work pressure for the first 4-5 months at Amazon. From promo perspective, SDE-2 comp at Amazon will be much higher than SDE-2 comp at Arcesium.
What path do you suggest? Arc SDE1 -> Amazon SDE2 or Amazon SDE1 -> Amazon SDE2?
You'll have to grind for promo at Amazon. Otherwise, you will have to leetcode to switch from Arcesium Sde-1 to Amazon Sde-2. So, depends on your priority. Also, what's your YOE?
Amazon.
what is your yoe
Amazon..avoid Arcesium
Go for Amazon ,it's tech company . Arcesium is a banking core company
Arcesium is very stringent about what TC they offer, if you happen to negotiate they might ghost as they did the same with me. Although still I would say that choosing amazon might be better, exit options are better. Arcesium has a 2 months of notice period which might limit your exit options somewhat. And, I have heard that there is poor WLB in arcesium as well. It is not a pay master like it's parent company DE shaw. If you manage to do well in amazon SDE 2 promotion will directly make your base 28 Lacs as they revised. To sum it up arcesium offered me a TC of 21 LPA(1.8 yoe) which was merely 20% hike from my current ctc. I tried to negotiate but was ghosted, so if you have greater than or equal my yoe, you can give it a shot but it seemed like lowballing company tbh.
@OP finally wht is your decision?
Amazon sucks! Arcesium has good culture, free food, nice location for weather and opportunities. Can’t see any reason to make a jump. In few years you can apply to other companies targeting 40-50L comp.
Right. Thanks for the suggestion!! what's your opinion on renegotiation?
What's better walmart or arcesium?
