How is tenable work culture ?
Well... like lots of places, it has its pros and cons. As an engineer for IO (now called Tenable Vulnerability Management), I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of very talented individuals who genuinely want to help you succeed. Everyone works very hard to deliver high-quality products. They care about Tenable's success and believe they're making a difference. Management also works hard to empower their staff to improve processes, innovate, and pursue career growth. However, depending on who you are and what you're working on, you may be working a LOT. If it's a critical deliverable, be prepared that you'll be working around the clock for as long as it takes. And if you're low-level management, forget any personal life outside of work, lol. On-call can be pretty ruthless too, as you'll get pinged multiple times every hour to support the whole application (it's gotten better in that we went from a 24-hour to a 12-hour shift for 7 days per rotation, but when you're on the hook, you'll feel it). Things can also be pretty chaotic with shifting priorities, team restructures, company politics, and waves of support tickets. Tenable has historically had a hard time focusing on something and also working down tech debt. Much of the engineering staff is remote and stationed throughout the globe, which helps things like on-call and diversity, but can make other things difficult, like communication, meetings, and time-sensitive tasks. At the moment there's a hiring freeze, but once it's opened back up the company has made it clear that they prefer to hire close to their hubs rather than remotely (though an option, it's more of an exception). Furthermore, they've slowly been shifting ppl back to the office as the pandemic wanes down by requiring individuals close by to come back twice a week. So if you're young and just starting out in your career, it's a wonderful place to work. But if you're older and need a work-life balance, a more established company might be a better fit, depending on what you're interviewing for.
