Enough to live ok but it will be nearly impossible to save for anything like a house
No
Remember NYC also taxes income. Just calculated take home pay (no 401k, etc. Deductions). It's $62,463 per year or $5205 per month. Rents are crazy high in NYC. Factor in transportation costs, food, electricity, water, etc. At best you might be left with 1000 to 1500 dollars a month if you scrimp and save. Now, the question is - do you think it's worth it?
NYC taxes income on top of the state tax 😭 ridiculous, so glad I don't live there anymore
> At best you might be left with 1000 to 1500 dollars a month if you scrimp and save. Wut, where is the other 4k going? You can get a 2BR for $2k in Manhattan right now.. Don't listen OP, I spend <$60k per year (after tax money) in NYC, living alone, no scrimping.
Did Amazon offer you this in NYC?
Nah Amazon L4 offer is like double that.
Nope
You'll have to find low cost housing in jersey and travel to nyc. Deduct 50% approx in tax and even with a rent of 1500 pm with roommates, you can live. If you're stingy you can save 15k per anum. You can do this just out of clg and then look for another job.
Take into account most of blind users are delusional techies who think if you aren’t saving 100k+ a year you’re hopeless. Find myself guilty of it sometimes too ngl
900000 is better
