Hey all, not from Seattle so I'm curious about what a good (for comfortably living) salary for a single person living there would be. Here are some PRE CONDITIONS: Owns a house/condo (not a mansion, let's say up to 1500sqft) Still pays mortgage but no more than 20% of monthly income No roommate(s) No credit card debt No student loan debt Has a car loan for a modest vehicle (let's say up to $700 with insurance) Can easily build up an emergency fund Can invest part of income w/o restricting other areas Can go out for dinner/drinks w/ friends a few times per month Can take a couple of 1-week vacations per year
Owning a condo or house with 20% monthly is the kicker here. If you rent, you can get away with a lot less TC
Looking at at least 4k/mo with these interest rates. For that to be 20% gross, that's 240k annual TC. You probably don't want to use RSU and bonus for monthly payments either
