Would you recommend Spotify to a friend?
Looking at New York office. If possible feedback on: 1. Culture 2. Life work balance 3. Feature development velocity 4. Design/Engineering relationship 5. Anything else? Thank you in advance:)

Comp is unfortunately not even close to competitive with FANG / Uber / Airbnb / Dropbox / Lyft etc. Mainly on equity.

Their base is on par or slightly better. The equity they offer is near zero value however. Take your yearly Uber equity, divide it by four, and turn it into options with market value strike price (I.e., stock needs to 2x for you to get 1x value; without stock appreciation equity value is $0). If you want exposure to their stock that bad, you can just buy their stock on your own - it is functionally the same thing. So TC is at least 30-40% lower if you are an experienced Eng.
1. Culture is amazing. Celebrity sightings, music everywhere, free concerts in the office. 2. I don't think anyone is ever stressed. If you're stressed a lot of people look out for you, and they genuinely care for your well being. European sentiments everywhere. 3. We release big products pretty fast. 4. Great relationship. Usually hand in hand. 5. Salary is equal to FAANG in NYC. Options are probably better.
