Which Sr/Principal PM jobs pay more than 400K except FAANG

Lets admit that FAANGs(or MAANG) as you may want to call it, are very competitive and you get lost in the corporate bureaucracy than enjoying building products with engineering teams. To a certain extent, certain teams in Google still offer you this freedom to innovate. At this stage of life, I feel exhausted, specially with Amazon, due its bottom up culture where you constantly have to innovate, justify & prove your idea, write documents and the execute it. It involves a lot of business acumen than what a Tech role/Tech PM can acquire. I’m not saying, this isn’t required at other PM firms/roles, but the constant change means, you are mentally exhausted. You need a company that sticks to its vision and gives you freedom to work for a few months to iterate, and not magically expect PMs to have answers and solutions to dipping revenue for example I feel mental health is far more important and as your family grows, you need a company with culture where certainly you may have to go aggressive for 50% of the time but then you can stay relaxed mentally for the rest. That said, I am asking this community to understand what mid size companies whose foundations are strong, offer decent work culture and PM salaries are not super high as what FAANG would offer (north of 500K) but at least north of 350K. Thanks for support. Other PMs, dont judge me and +1 if you feel the same burnout at your respective firms. YOE: 13 TC: 290K Location: Seattle

You can get 350-400 over first 4 years at Microsoft at L65. Obviously not mid sized but the 6 month planning cycles allow a bit more time to execute without having to constantly justify.

L6 PM = OCI IC4 PM - Seattle strong offer would get to 350k. L7 PM = OCI IC5 PM - Seattle this would get beyond 400k package. as PM business acumen is what you need to get beyond these levels.

I'm leaning towards Series B/C startups with this kind of TC with a base of around 300K. There is too much volatility in later stage companies who have been prioritizing growth over cash flow. This is manifesting in massive dilution in upcoming funding rounds, or for public companies huge markdowns in public equity. Either way, this means employees are the bag holders at these later stages. I'm curious if you've narrowed down candidates?
