Is working for Dataminr company good? Has anyone heard about this company??
Is it grindr for data scientists?
They asked me a tough phone screen question.
Any new intel?
Deloitte, I interviewed there a few years ago. Honestly, the absolute worst interview experience of my life. I can’t imagine they have changed that much, but everything from the phone screens to onsite to getting feedback was bungled. I would never recommend this company to anyone given that experience and it was a huge red flag. Also as an aside, I have a friend at another Big 4 who went ahead (against my advice) and should to pursue an opportunity. He made manager pay and had 15 years of experience in the DC market. Evidently Dataminr isn’t very competitive TC wise and after their final offer, he ended the conversation.
Just had an on-site and it was great. Very sociable team and not getting grilled with leetcode hards. I will update offer details next week.
Did you get an offer, if so, how was it?
About 180 TC for an SDE2 position. Decent offer but not worth moving to New York from Seattle for.
I guess it’s all perspective JP Morgan...
no bueno. — caca
Have a friend working there, one of the very early engineers. No clue how it is but he's still there after 2 years (and the dude has plenty of options if he decided he wanted to move on) so it can't be that bad
It's a 9 year old company. 2 years doesn't imply very early engineer. I interviewed there 3.5 years ago and that wasn't considered very early.
Apparently 2 years ago they only had 14 engineers. Thought they were a lot younger for that reason. My bad
