Is “S” (2022/2023) worth the extra money. Edit: I love being behind the wheel. Priority is driving experience. TC: 200k #cars #porsche #suv
If you have the money to spend, yes.
If you want the driving thrill , look somewhere else with a Stick shift. Take it to the track.
Macan is just a re-badged Audi.
Go for macan electric instead. No point investing in gas guzzler
Don't get a car in Boston lol
TLDR: Macan S if you want extra horsepower/bigger engine. Otherwise Macan T is the way to go Depends on why you’re getting the car. If it’s just for looks then it doesn’t matter you’ll probably be fine with the Macan T (I think both trims look the same). But if you care about performance then get the Macan S with the V6 engine. Given that the Macan T has a smaller 4 cylinder engine, it’ll probably be better on gas mileage
Two factors: 1: newer macan S shares the same engine as GTS. It’s a great bargain to get Macan S for the sweet reliable Audi V6. Macan T shares the good ol EA888 that VW been using for forever. It’s not bad but lacks characteristics. If you don’t have a sports car, V6 is definitely way to go. 2. New Macan in general is a bad investment. You will lose a lot of money by just driving off the lot. Also new electric version is off the horizon. Recommend for a second hand mint Macan S if possible. 200k TC is also not that much to afford new Macan S payment
Thank you. Do you know what’s yearly maintenance would be for Macan? Anything additional for S? (When i said newer, meant maybe 2023 if I get a great deal, definitely not driving new one off the lot)
You can skim on the maintenance by going to indie shops instead of dealer. It really depends on the mileage and Google is your best answer. I don’t expect big numbers for relatively new car. Macan has been shared platform with q5 so a lot of parts are cheap
If you enjoy being behind the wheel why would you consider the 4-cyl? Get the S. Unless you only want it for clout then who cares what engine you have
I want to make wise decisions given it’s bit out of my budget and Not just run after engine size. So asking for advice in terms of long term ownership. I will be test driving as well.
Anyone making a wise decision wouldn’t be considering a Porsche let’s just be honest about that. The V6 is objectively better in driving, experience especially for someone who enjoys driving. If i were to buy it for my wife and she just needed to pick and drop kids, I’d say engine doesn’t matter. But if it were for me, I’d get the V6
Why don't you test drive? I drove both and selected a CPO T with good options. Macan S is a great car but I'm not really speeding so great handling of T was enough.
If Camry and A5 are your benchmarks, the base Macan will bring you joy beyond your wildest dreams. But the Macan s is a step up from the base performance.
Those were my owned cars. I have driven Camaro SS, BMW M series, Mustang, Challenger, C300 and so on.. But driving as rentals and ownership are diff experiences
Expensive cars are for boring people trying to buy a personality
There was a recent thread of someone trying to buy a m340i for the sole reason of, and I quote "attracting 😺" That must suck to have to spend $50-60k for a girlfriend
I have been car enthusiasts since childhood, I love to drive, I have enjoyed driving Camary, then Audi A5. I am different person behind the wheel, gives me happiness. I can drive for hours with no destination in sight. Porsche is ultimate driving experience I can try to afford in daily life. Good enough reason for you DooHicky?
