Numbers are in my previous post : https://www.teamblind.com/post/74iRoT3N FB matched Apple numbers so let's say comp wise they are exactly the same. So now I need to decide purely on non-offer numbers related factors. Apple : Team seems composed of good people, interesting infra/platform work in a growing area within Apple HM says WLB is a strong area of focus for him; it used to be bad until recently because team was in 'startup mode'—overall encouraging signal about WLB/team health. FB : I was approved for an E4 SWE in Infra role. I have 5 years experience in backend engineering with some devops/distributed system architecture, and I REALLY want to work on, in order or preference [1]Oculus/FB Reality labs(https://www.facebook.com/careers/v2/jobs/748574825476233/), [2]making OSS contributions(https://www.facebook.com/careers/v2/jobs/2872488649674600/), [3]programming languages and compilers(https://www.facebook.com/careers/v2/jobs/368022031576702/), or ML/AI/CV teams. I do not meet the listed requirements for these roles however. Hiring managers in these teams at FB Lon : is SWE Infra approval + a possibly irrational passion for AR/VR untested by shipping real world products, a possible substitute? FB Londoners more generally : Is it worth going through the bootcamp/team matching gauntlet not knowing what one might get at the end? How was your bootcamp and team matching experience relative to expectations? #FB #apple #london #oculus #bootcamp

There’s going to be an emergency shut down
From what I know the bootcamp is setup for you to decide which team you’ll end up, not the other way around. Of course it depends on headcount, but it is far from being a lottery and you don’t having control. Source: I’ll join FB soon and I know a couple of people that worked there (and a few who still work)
@Old, that's the impression I get too! Lottery was probably the wrong word choice.
