Do you all have clutter? Holiday stuff, or any stuff that just takes over? How do you deal with it? Store it in your home, outside your home? Is it yours? Is it your spouse? Your kids? Describe your clutter and how you deal with it
Set a 5 minute timer and put away all of the clutter you can, then stop. It's amazing how much crap you can put back in a short period, even though it feels overwhelming. I sell stuff or give away that which I don't use, check buy nothing groups on FB.
I’m going to try the 5 minute idea
Do it. Everyday pick a different area, living room, bathroom, kitchen. It's only 5 minute so you have no excuse.
My dad and I recently had a laugh over this cartoon.
Thanks for sharing this. A good laugh
There are books written about this. My key tips: 1. Donate, give to friends, sell, or throw away things you don’t need 2. Buy organization furniture like side tables, shelves, dressers, etc… 3. Hire an interior designer for a consultation or even use a free one from West elm / pottery barn 4. Try to keep objects near where you’d use them 5. Put away items gradually through the day
I’m not good at figuring out the organization furniture but I like this idea. Any inspiration for how to find the right pieces?
Practice Minimalism.
I had clutter that was sitting on my living room for YEARS. I'm ashamed to admit that, but it was there. Random stuff like old pamphlets, old prescription drugs, water bottles... They were just part of the mosaic in my living space. In the winter break, I decided to do a major clean up. House looks so much better now.
Nice! Good for you. What created the motivation to take that step?
I needed to change up the environment after the layoff, clear the fog out my brain. It helped
I literally have only 2 suitcases. Throw everything away.
Tell me you are single without telling me you are single.
