Why do men go on dating apps looking for sex? Don't they realize escorts exist? Can they not use google? Ridiculous
Any folks from Opendoor here? How is the comp for eng and culture there?
they sent me a message too @XYaC65. what type of role are they approaching you for?
Why people leaving I heard they are good?
I just joined OD. I heard that no one really left in the first 3 years and it just went through massive growth and it's left us growing scars to deal with. Eng culture is pretty good though, just like everywhere else. Biz/Ops side is pretty political though, also like everywhere else.
Culture varies widely per team. We have a pretty vertical organization. Most managers have < 4 reports. Some managers have one report. It may be standard for our size, I'm not sure.
It's rare to hear vertical org nowadays. Do you guys have eng track then? Or everyone has to be a manager eventually?
There's an eng track. Eng org has flattened a bit and is much less vertical than ops (3 layers of mgmt vs 5 or more)
Comp is a little less than similar companies. Worth it for growth and equity in my opinion. Eng culture is good - lots of autonomy if that’s what you’re looking for
Heard ppl leaving
Nah. I've got a good view into everyone who's left and why. 6 in total from eng /product. 4 were on a pip. 2 were amazing engineers. One left because they got an offer at couldn't match from FANG. The other we totally messed up
Interesting, can you share more details on where people ended up going, etc.?
