Didn’t go well for the 20k Nokia employees when they acquired that company a few years ago
My thoughts exactly
That acquisition was Ballmer on the way out the door. Satya didn't want Nokia and he pulled the plug on Windows Phone. A better analog would probably be LinkedIn or Bethesda, and I don't think there were mass layoffs there.
Peanuts 240k with 8 year experience? Entitled much .
Game industry dude
So the acquisition will go thru?
Just checked with Satya, replied No
Can you double check with Amy?
It has always been the case to have some layoffs for every acquisition. The scale is what is unknown.
It will go as with many other acquisitions, GitHub, LinkedIn etc. Directors and finances will report to MS bosses, duplicate roles will be removed but the vast majority will be kept for years to keep running the business and making games and operate them.
2 month to transition key business process and operational posture. Then they will typically be reassigned or let go
I would say October probably
Who will run the company though?
