I make more money than I ever dreamed of, so why am I not happy?
Which card do you prefer? I like the AMEX platinum because it's basically free with all the benefits, including 1) AMEX lounge access, Hulu credit, Saks credit, Uber credit, Walmart credit and clear credit Should I get the CSR? Tc 300k
I have both. Platinum for the benefits, credits and paying for flights. CSR for everything else.
This works for frequent fliers , technically these two cards can be complimentary to each other
Amex Platinum is a coupon card. Better prestige / swag / flex points for whatever reason.
Both, they each have their place in the wallet
Was thinking of getting one of either. Thanks for the review
Neither. At least for my expenses, a simple 2% Cashback card with $0 fees works much better. CSR for example has a fee of $350, and gives 4.5% back only when booking from their portal , which friends say has fewer options and higher prices. Even then, that's a 2.5% difference: that's 14k expenses just to break even! The benefit of lounge can be bought per trip, or directly via priority pass (which sucks imho). Rest I'm not interested in.
Annual fee of the CSR is 550 not 350
It gives you $200 towards any sort of travel so that's an easy wash.
amex platinum has higher yearly fees, but if you can take advantage of the credits then its great. However, Centurion lounge is getting crowded and their are often lines to get in these days.
The problem with Amex is that the benefits are restricted to specific companies. You have to buy from this airline company, that restaurant, and only these selected retailers. I’m not a coupon clipper. I’m willing to get slightly lower rewards in exchange for not having to think about where I need to shop in order for my card to give me points.
Amex is good but starting next year they are charging 175$ per additional card which sucks.( currently it’s 175$ for all the 3 add on cards )
How many times do you use it all after paying that high annual fees?
