Is it possible to fake as a man in phone interview? Will it help getting more pay?

As title. Disregard the ethical and political issues, if you have a device to transform your voice, could you possibly get more opportunities and pay?

This is the dumbest question I have seen on blind so far

Microsoft Schrader Mar 9, 2019

Also, lesser pay if OP is applying to Google.

Pls! If you read the article you will realize it does not consider the fact that some women are down-leveled.

Maybe don’t play a victim regurgitated received opinions. You will do much better in life

LinkedIn tendies Mar 9, 2019

Why would you do better in life with less advantages? Are you saying affirmative action doesn't work or bias doesn't exist?

Microsoft howser Mar 9, 2019

Bias exists But it’s not a one way street Also can you elaborate on less advantages

I don’t think that will help. What you can do is see if you can hire a lawyer (another service doesn’t have a legal duty to represent your best interests) to help: https://law.yale.edu/student-life/career-development/alumni/toolkit-alumni-job-seekers/salary-negotiation Another option is to really negotiate and if you do, be willing to walk away if they don’t come close. I’ve done that a few times in my career and it was almost always the right call. One trick I have used when I worked with recruiters for major US companies is to negotiate more pay in RSU than previously offered. Do this if you can live off the lower base. It does have risk that the stock goes down, but also gives more wiggle room for salary bumps based on performance—and stock appreciation.

As far as I know the pay is not decided over the phone. Phone calls are just to screen you before they decide to bring you in. So no, your trick won't work

LinkedIn tendies Mar 9, 2019

It depends. Generally for intern roles it's just phone screen. For full time usually there's onsite. However you can still probably request accommodations for onsite.

Your chance of landing the job will go down

Apple microBro Mar 9, 2019

Many under qualified WITCH contractors tried this for phone interviews. Lip syncing and shit. It’s fucking frustrating, ruining the image of real hard working people coming from India.

Facebook ImranKhan Mar 9, 2019

Just get a man to do the phone interview. That will also increase the chances of success with the phone screen. That being said, don't come after me with SJW shit. I don't care as Sharia law doesn't mention women as humans.

Intel UGeJ58 Mar 10, 2019

Well it's a good thing being human isn't a requirement to be hired. It's never been in my contracts
