Hello HW blinders, I am interested in learning more about ASIC programming and I have no idea where to start or what to study. Any pointers or suggestions for courses?
Also, any recommendations?
Digital logic, FSM design, Comp arch, Verilog, SystemVerilog Timing Synthesis These are the very basic things you need for frontend RTL design. If you want to get into DV or PD or Emulation etc, you need to get experience in those
Thank you
Question on @Quora: What are skills required/needed for a digital VLSI engineer (focus on front end)? How can I learn them? https://www.quora.com/What-are-skills-required-needed-for-a-digital-VLSI-engineer-focus-on-front-end-How-can-I-learn-them?ch=3&share=cdaa2e8a&srid=pNRI
Read some computer arithmetic papers and implement them in RTL. Get an FPGA development kit, implement design and communication subsystem and have fun. You can then progress to implementing ML inference algos.

ASIC programming you mean firmware or RTL?
I am more interested in the RTL now. It feels like RTL has way more opportunities than firmware. Am I wrong?
Op: move to verification.. That is having more opportunity than rtl design..
