Thinking of joining Google cloud in Seattle. Does the Google Mercer office have sufficient parking for all employees at that location, or (expense-able) paid parking nearby? I'm coming from Amazon, where you have to wait a year to get a parking spot assigned in Seattle (outside of COVID times).
The South Lake Union office does have some underground parking but 1) you have to pay $12 /day for it 2) there is a limited number of spaces that are first-come first-served. The whole point is to incentivize you to take the Google shuttle, or public transportation
Thank you! I would take a shuttle if possible. Are there shuttles from many Seattle suburbs? I'm currently looking to purchase a house in Seattle and the market is insane, so I'm not sure which suburb I'll end up in, but Ballard or Columbia City seem most likely.
At this moment, all shuttle service is suspended because everyone is still working from home. Don't base your Seattle house-buying decisions on where a corporate shuttle services. In the grand scheme of things the shuttles don't cover *that* many areas. There are many more factors to Seattle area home-buying than just the commute
You are thinking about parking situation even before you have an offer?
I've already passed the interviews, and I'm working through the offer process now.
