I am currently talking to a AWS recruiter, not sure whether I should take the interview now or wait. I've done the new year's list of 75 leetcode questions and am mid way through grokking the coding interview. I can solve simple patterns quickly like sliding window, two pointers etc and have seen all the other patterns before but can't yet do them in my sleep. I told the recruiter about this prep and he said it's fine, as long as you know the data structures just interview. If I do all the leetcode Amazon questions and take an AWS interview now (SDE II) will I fail?
LP is big. But there is some random luck involved - some interviewers like to ask harder questions. I prepped with EPI and my interviews were easier than i anticipated.
That's great to hear!
What about system design?
You realize the support org has the lowest bar? Why not get into support and transfer interview for SDE?
I did around 40 LC from amazon list. I got one of them in the OA, and an LC hard that I hadn’t done, but was on the list, in the onsite. Passed the coding/design rounds, but was down leveled due to LP.
From Where did you prep for the system design round?

its all about LP - why do people ignore this?
So if I just memorize all the LPs and have great stories I'm good? Cuz I can definitely do that, just worried about the coding interview prep
no you are underestimating LP. you should memorize them like you can recite the pledge of allegiance. technical interviews are never hard, unless you make overcomplicate them.
