Received an offer from Amazon today. Neither the letter nor the recruiter email specifies the Level. Currently with Intel, Grade 8. I feel the numbers from Amazon are low. Is there any scope for negotiation based off my current TC? P.S. This is my first post here so not sure about the norms. For clarification. AWS equity mentioned in the poll is the average annual equity over a period of 4 years. Total equity = 70k*4 YOE: 6 #offers #swe
Are you joking? With this significant difference you even consider Amazon as an option? 260k is L5 SDE.
When I was there 3 years ago as L5, I got 300 TC Last I heard the comp went up overall. You sure that isn't high end L4?
^^^ Great username!
Got amazon with 3 yoe at 310, you can do way better
For Intel G8 this is an insult imho.
Say more about the sign on, OP. Is that 200k for the first year, or the sum of both years 1 and 2? Amazon sign on bonus usually mitigates low TC in the first 2 years from the 5/15/40/40 RSU vesting schedule.
I'mma be honest - don't leave Intel. It's not chill at Amazon. Intel you'll have a great wlb, and never have to worry about the CEO constantly backtracking on previous statements
OP, the AWS offer TC doesn’t make sense. Should be something like: Base 190 Equity total 240 (4 yr) Sign on 200 (2 yr) Year 1 TC: $312k Year 2: $306k Year 3/4: $286k Regardless you should push for more.
You are messing up the TC for aws...
Stay at Intel, Amazon is terrible to employees right now. Hiring for one location then forcing you to move across the country just months later. If you don't it's forced resignation and no severance. I wouldn't join Amazon until they stop actively hurting their employees, if that happens
The TC for amazon is misrepresented, it looks to be closer to ~300k. Either way it’s a pay cut, I wouldn’t take it unless you have a strong reason to leave Intel
There should be . Amazon tc is slow and you probably would have to work more
