Howdy! Background: I am trying to switch to SW. 7 yoe but not SW related LC 800+ and have done some web design projects and read some system design books. Question: As the market is bad and I barely get an interview, I am thinking about getting an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification, to increase my odd of being selected by HR(especially when the market gets a bit better..). Trying to figure out how it (not only the certification but also learning effort/experience I will spent on it) can benefit me. Please vote or share your mind about it Also, if you have other ideas about strengthing my skill/experience please feel free to share. TC 150k

These certifications are useless for software engineering roles (sometimes worse than that). Please don’t approach system design like it’s architecting a solution on the existing platforms. Best case, it gives you some ideas about what can be done, but you still have to put on the work to understand the technology behind the product.
