I am among those that were cut today. I was with ProServe, 5 yrs at AWS, 23 yrs overall IT, was promoted to L7 in Q3, was HV3 or TT every year (except this year due to promo) and had a CSAT score of 10, receiving perfect feedback on every engagement over 5 years… and it didn’t matter… to everyone in the same boat today, best wishes and land on your feet! It stings, but opportunities are out there still!
Which speciality ?
well that just goes to show if you work hard and make your employer a ton of money they'll toss you out like trash just the same as if you didn't
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Oh yes… the ol’ morale boosting layoffs.
Op, were you a tech consultant or on the program/engagement management side of it.
Tech consultant
Sorry to hear. Not sure why you were impacted
I know quite a few proserve tech consultants were out today.
I was impacted too…I saw it coming though.Must say the terms/conditions for laid off fellas aren’t bad….Having said that, I am wondering how bad the market is rite now….Are there no jobs for exp engineers?
Godspeed sir/ma’am
Unfortunately when it comes to lay offs your performance doesn't matter as much. It's all about $$$$$$
Correct. In ProServe if you were not billable between Jan and March you got laid off. As much as it sucks it makes sense. No one wants to tell a customer "We are removing Bob with Joe because we have to lay off Bob but Joe has been here longer" That's a fact jack. This was all about being unlucky and not being on an engagement at the time the layoff numbers were calculated.
Not true. I personally know two great guys who had a bit of lower utilization last year but has been on engagements since beginning of this year and are actively working with customers but still laid off. There seems to be n9 rhyme or rythum for how this was done.
Wishing you the best. The cuts were so unfair and large no of good talents were affected. Work your portfolio and you'll find a better home than AWS.
Yikes!
