Do i really need to prep with these ridiculous Leadership Principles? Seems like a waste of time.
Yep.
Yes and yes it’s a waste of time. Main reason why I canceled my on-site with them: just didn’t want to spend a weekend “creating answers” for that nonsense
If you don't believe that they are applicable at workplace it is right that you canceled the interview. Having been part of the loops, if you make up stuff it will get found out and we know usually when they are faking it.
People are faking because not everybody faces a case that was asked.
Probably not worth going through with the interview if you think it's a waste of time. More so than any other company I've worked at, the principles do determine all aspects of how work is conducted at the company. If you don't like them, you might not like working there.
100%
Completely agree. Honestly, I didn’t realize how engrained in the culture they were until I started. They take them seriously. But also, I do like them as core guiding principles
lol if you’re not keen on spending a bit of time to get to know the LPs now you’re likely not going to do well at amazon (or even pass the on-site). Don’t waste our time.
Funny. I was offered a role 8 months ago but the TC was only $320k so I turned it down. Last go around it was pretty streamlined, bar raiser was a hack and a pushover. They called me with a better offer but from what I can tell it’s not going to be as easy this go around. I know tons of people at AWS and they can’t even name three LPs hence the question.
🙄 you must be real unhappy at msft to come back for more then...? LP culture is very real at AWS so calling bullshit on your “tons of people” claim.
they’re not that different from other companies questions, u just get a bit more, so don’t worry about it. plenty of leadership-deficient folks here, LC is all that matters like elsewhere
Oh hell yes. That will decide if you will make it or not
I guess I’ll cancel my interview and go back to LeetCoding. Thanks for the help.
If it’s a waste of your time, why are you interviewing in the first place?
Yes. Absolutely. Amazon is different from Other companies in this way - they REALLY live and breathe those Leadership Principles and you will be asked about them.
