AWS to Nike, culture differences?
Non Tech here, but interested in Engineer opinions as well. Leaving AWS and moving into a senior recruiting role at Nike. Was curious how the culture was, specifically maybe from previous AWS employees, but in general as well. I’m just excited to not have to spend a majority of my day checking to see how many hundreds of times a candidate has been messaged in the last week before I can even reach out with an opportunity.
My recruiting experience at Nike was a shit show, tons of turnover on the UR team throughout my process and I ended up having 3-4 different recruiters by the time I got an offer. Seemed like everything was constantly on fire. That being said, and with no AMZN experience, I bet you'll see a meaningful improvement in WLB - I'd say that's Nike's "culture" if anything. There is a lot of emphasis on regularly taking time for yourself/family (or for sport/exercise) and encouragement to take advantage of benefits like summer Fridays. Welcome!
