Is it normal to compromise the code and design quality in favor of functional delivery? I have been noticing in my new role here that Teams are just rushing all the time to build new features without any regard to how it is built. No value is given to thinking about the High level and Low level designs (let alone the actual code). Moreover people want to expand their portfolio by grabbing systems rather than actually building scalable and extensible stuff. Is this normal? YOE 15 TC 150k
Yes, they don't care about documentation, or how the code is as long as it works.
Way of life. Deliver features and let them go into KTLO. Ownership has a narrow vision. You should change teams/companies on average faster than your top level leadership changes teams/companies
That’s bad since I ain’t learning
There are times when bad code slows you down
Morgan stanley is worse place for good technologist.
Chillax dude. You aren’t writing code for rockets and aeroplanes where error is not an option. Strive for ‘bias for action’, and keep delivering
^This summarizes our code base
I didn’t invent that LP. That’s how our bosses want us to act.
