https://www.irishtimes.com/business/2023/07/31/accenture-cuts-almost-one-in-seven-irish-staff/ Outsourcing group Accenture has announced plans to axe another 890 jobs in Ireland, just weeks after 400 staff departed in an earlier job cull even as the multinational group says its Irish business continues to perform strongly. The latest cuts amount to just under one in seven – or 13.7 per cent – of the advisory group’s 6,500-plus Irish staff. Staff were informed of the planned redundancies on Monday. The Irish-headquartered multinational shed 400 jobs from its Irish operation over recent months. With these latest job losses, Accenture has now cut 20 per cent of its Irish business this year. That makes Accenture’s the most dramatic in a sequence of announcements from companies across the tech sector over the past year that has seen industry giants like Intel, Meta, Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Stripe and Amazon reduce their workforces.
American WITCH.
Ireland is just too expensive for such outsourcing. Basically clients have to pay for more of less adequate salares, operational costs and margin profit for Accenture. It is easier to do in a lower cost area.
Oof
Yeah I just left in February before it started looking too bad..
No one cares about accenture
Accenture is a global consulting firm employing over 700,000. Plenty of people rely on and care about Accenture.
Except every single fortune 100 company. Including FAANG. Every one is a client
