Incoming intern here. I heard Addepar gives stock options, instead of RSUs. How's the option amount determined? Is it (num of option units you can exercise) * (price per unit at current valuation)? And strike price is what you'll pay for each stock option you decide to exercise? Thanks! TC: 60/hr #addepar
Isn't Meta better?
Nah
As someone at Meta, nah
Think of it as essentially you have the option to buy the stock at a (hopefully) very discounted price. You can later sell that stock for a much higher price.
Though I’m not sure interns get options
Can I do for Addepar intern referral?

Typically options are given in offers as their raw number rather than in a dollar amount. Not sure if that answers your question. You’re right, strike price is how much you’ll pay to exercise the option. https://medium.com/swlh/understanding-startup-stock-options-4bf9cc26089e
