Hello, Recently interviewed with both the companies above and have offers for senior roles. Addepar IC3: NYC Base: 200K Bonus: 15% Options: 180k at strike price of 1.17, vested over 5 years Sign on: Nothing TC: 252K LinkedIn, Senior Software Engineer: Sunnyvale. Base: 190k Bonus: 10% RSU's: 300k / 4 years Sign on: 40k TC: 324K Addepar is still in nascent phases in terms of engineering products and workforce. However I did like their style of interview and my conversations (twice) with Head of Engineering went well. I'm expecting 50 to 60 hours work per week (at least) for the first two years. On the other hand, LinkedIn in already established with dedicated processes and system in place for engineering. Their interview style is just like any other FAANG, but they are addressing newer challenges now which inline with what I wanted to do. Expecting 30 to 40 hours a week as long as I stay there. I'm wondering what the community thinks about these two. YOE: 5 #tech #addepar #linkedin #hiring #offer #engineering #software Update (11/10): Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I ended up taking Addepar, was able to increase my options (by 20k) and get a sign on (I was asked to provide a proof of bonus at BBG).
Is ic3 for new graduate? Like e3 l3 in fg? If you choose addepar, I will ask for more equity because itis in a market without much upside from 2b valuation (like 10x) Their competitor such as envestinet only has 4 billion market cap.
IC3 in Addepar is same as Senior Software Engineer in LinkedIn
Congrats on the offer! May I know how your interviews for LinkedIn were?
Thanks. Mostly leet-code style questions. 1 Phone round, 5 on-sites (1 Behavioral, 1 Technical, 1 System Design, 2 Coding).
Leetcode medium?
LinkedIn. Make it a poll
Yeah, I'm leaning towards that as well. I would have to work may be 30 hours a week vs 60 hours a week in Addepar.
Smart choice.
Btw, friend worked at addepar and he said the engineering org is super toxic. He gave his two weeks and walked out on the same day...
Why was it toxic?
I see, what does he think about growth at the org. For me it does sound like it will grow, but the downside is I need to wait until 2 years to see any fruits over there
I doubt you'll be working 50 hours a week at addepar. I'm joining soon and I was assured multiple times from multiple people in the process that the work life balance is great there.
Why are you leaving Microsoft ? Looks like the company is doing well in terms of valuation.
The money is better at Addepar. Also while it's still a pre ipo company, you are able to sell your equity on private markets. Last I knew, it was selling for about 5 dollars a share.
Hey OP, I’m interviewing for a similar position at addepar soon. Could you describe the interviews and the questions that were asked at the on-site?
Questions are related to work you did and/ or work you might do at Addepar. I had 5 on-sites (1 Behavioral, 1 Technical, 1 System Design, 1 Coding,1 Product collaboration). Had a catch up with recruiter at the end for 10 mins.
It's pretty chill here, great WLB i would even say. don't know anyone in eng who works 50h or more on a regular basis. But might be team dependent?
OP, Why do you think you’ll e working 50-60h at Addepar?
Well the engineering is still evolving and you might need to put some efforts to create a process
hey OP, which engineering track did you interview for with Addepar?
