I bought the last version of Lightroom for windows before it switched to the subscription plan. Now that I bought an M1 I can't use it, nor buy a new one. I'm now looking for alternatives and by what I've been reading online I'm not the only one who think this plan is just too expensive. People from Adobe, have you seen a decrease in revenue because of the new business model?
"Now, Adobe is still growing their top and bottom line thanks to their cloud subscription services. Recurring revenue from subscriptions represented 86% of the company’s total revenue in 2017 of $7.3 billion. The 35-year-old company is growing revenue 25% YoY, and their stock increased 20% a few weeks ago in reaction to a strong forecast for FY18."
Their stock turned into a rocket ship after they made that change. I wish I held onto the stock I had at $30/share.
1. The business model is working well and reflects in the stock price. 2. Make a friend in Adobe and avail their employee discount if you use it for personal and non commercial use.
Are you my friend? How much is the discount?
Depends on what products you want. 120$ per year gets you creative cloud which includes everything.
Use Pixelmator Pro 2! It has native Apple silicon support. You can do most things that Lightroom does on Pixelmator albeit with a different UI.
