We've all come to rely on the advancements in technology. But as we push the boundaries of artificial intelligence, we edge closer to AGI, a force that could render not only their efforts meaningless but also impact the entire fabric of human society. We should realize and feel responsible that we may be paving the way for our own obsolescence. It's vital to question the direction of unsupervised AI development, as once AGI is reached, there may be no turning back for humanity, instantly.
Okay Google
Sigh... Go to bed, Google. Call me when your text autocomplete does anything useful, then we can talk about computers taking over the world.
You don't understand. It is not about which company builds the best AI nor how much money is gained through automation. It is a great tool until it isn't. Playing with fire
I am not so sure about the AGI thing. Most AI/ML is about learning from human generated data, and these algorithms are just glorified search engines, approximating the search space for a given problem. I don't see any significant development on the AGI front, just talk
But aren’t we machines? So someone made us. We made the next thing. To AI. Some of us will be their god. The same way we have one we look to. Our biological systems are a form of programming.
Just like a salmon that knows its impending demise but cannot help but be compelled to swim upstream, we too shall walk right to our end.
It is inevitable I guess. It is fueled by money, which is how the society runs and makes decisions
But it’s fun and exciting
Well we are torturing and killing animals every day, maybe it’s time for a more powerful being to abuse us in the same way.
AI won’t be able to do anything without a breakthrough in semiconductors. It’ll be stuck where it is currently because processors will be stuck.
So what’s your plan?
You are welcome ☺️
