Advice for a more technical role

I spent about 10 years in the construction industry in a somewhat technical role (setting up servers, databases, writing scripts, and writing logic using proprietary software). Last few years working as PM. I have an AAS in CS and BS in Cloud with AWS SysOps Admin cert and others from CompTIA. I know Python and now learning JS. Earlier this year I decided to look for a role in the tech industry and had a few interviews. I received an offer from a startup for an Implementation/Customer Engineer but turned it down for an offer from #IBM. I am currently an architect on a technical sales team but not enjoying the role, not intellectual stimulating enough. I keep receiving emails from #AWS about SDE role but I know I will not pass the coding assessment. AWS ProServe turned me down for Architect role. So the question is: does anyone have any advice on how to move into a more technical role, or a tech/customer interaction role. I've tried applying to CSM/CSE, TAM, Tech Sales Engineer but no luck. Leetcode is all you need. I know you might not enjoy doing it (rarely anyone does) but the ROI is huge especially for people breaking in from non-swe roles into swe. Put in a few a months while the hiring freezes continue and apply like crazy once companies ramp up hiring again

Thanks for the comment. It definitely does not seem enjoyable but that might be the best route, especially while I have a decent amount of downtime at this time.

Just do it bro. I certifiably hate that but it’s one of those things you have to do. Eg people might not like exercising but they do it cuz they should 😂. Remember when you start, you will have a hard time unless you’re a genius. From what I’ve seen it takes about at least 2-3 weeks before most people are able to solve a medium question by themselves but that’s an inflection point after which it starts to get easier and easier. Good luck
