Advice for an ambitious new grad

Interning at Nvidia for a SWE role. I have a BS and MS in CS with 6 SWE internships. I have very strong internship performance and they want to make an offer. I have about a month left in the internship, what can I do to get an IC3 middle of the band offer (250K)? It's hard to get competing offers because the cycle doesn't start till august. I am currently applying to mid-level roles at Meta, Netflix, AWS, and GCP and I would like referrals. What are your offer negotiation tips for Nvidia? #nvidia #software #meta #google #amazon #netflix

I don't think anyone would give you a mid level offer just because you have 6 internships and MS. Might have flown in 2020, but not in this market. You can try, but just focus on any offer in this market.

Yeah, if only I was born a few years earlier. Ugh, but you have a good point. I will keep that in mind. I guess Nvidia doing well doesn't translate to higher offers, just better job security.

Ic3 is for PhD new grads or masters plus ~2yoe so ull be getting ic2 offer. Depending on org u could negotiate up to around 155-165 base and 140-160/4 rsu (yearly tc 190-205). Initial offer might be around 120/4 for rsu altho theyll offer higher range initially if they really want you. This is sw, hardware will be lower.

Is this like a hard rule? Even with strong intern performance and competing offers? Almost all the MS Nvidia interns from my school get IC2 from around 190-205K, what is the upper bound here?

I’m not sure about FAANGS. But at a Series E startup and valued at 6 billion, we have given mid level offer to intern. That intern was super exceptional. So..

Might be better to just decline the Nvidia offer and aim for quant firms? MIT is a target school for them.
