Advice from 2008/2009

A lot of people during that time who lost their jobs went back to school to pivot into a new career and make themselves more marketable with their increased education. For those who LC’d and never went to school for anything, realize when layoffs like this happen you’re a one trick pony. Make yourself more marketable by changing careers, especially if you’re burnt out in your current path. TC - 150K (cash) #tech #meta #twitter #layoffs #education #changecareers #college

I was starting my career back then. It hurt so bad, twisted my mind to have a serious aversion to risk. I tuned out all startups. I became paranoid. My classmates went west, I stayed east. Look at me now. I climbed the ladder, but I feel like I missed out on so much. Sure, it's nice to be at the top of my game where I am - but what could have been? Got my ass handed to me by a dead economy. 😔 New grads, keep your heads up. Omg, I actually upset myself writing this post out.
