Has anyone here experience in buying Rolex watches. I want to buy a Rolex submariner and planning to spend around 10k. I mainly wanted to get advice on if stores give you a discount on purchases and if anyone has been able to get that consistently! No trolls please.. :)
No discounts, there’s too much demand for that model. I tried to buy one two years ago, but the waitlist was out of this world. If you’re buying new, you may have to wait a while I think. I settled on a new Omega Seamaster.
Not sure if this would work for Rolex, but I bought a grand seiko from an airport duty free shop in Japan and got $1000 off retail with no tax. Had to pay $150 import duty coming back into the US though
It may be cheaper to get a ticket to Europe and buy there. But the popular ones are mostly gone the second they are out.
Seriously, I thought the prices are the same!
It’s slightly more expensive in the US and you will have to add tax on top of the tag price.
Not trolling. What’s the obsession? I just looked up the photo of the model and it looks exactly like my 90$ watches I had 5 years ago. Remove the logo and I would never ever in my life guessed it’s Rolex or some other expensive watches.
Nawww I disagree. Buying a Rolex Sub is the dream for many people. Sure there are better “values” out there, but buying a Rolex isn’t an investment. It’s an emotional purchase. It’s symbolic for a certain achievement in life (at least for most) and something that can be passed down for generations. There’s a difference between giving your son your 2020 Rolex sub vs your Seiko diver.
I mean, sure, I get all of that. But the model looks ... basic? I’m not a Rolex dude and I don’t know their models, but looking at a photo it’s like if I would pay 200k for Toyota Corolla and stick a Lamborghini logo on it.
Just buy a homage watch. What a waste of $
Just buy a grand Seiko, better qc, better attention to detail, better materials, better design, better potential upside
You will definitely not get a Rolex Submariner on a discount. If you want a lower cost Rolex, go for a Explorer II or Milgauss
I actually don't have a budget constraint! I just want it to be a worthy investment. I don't know if that makes sense. From what I have heard from friends, rolexes don't lose value even after years.
Discount? Find a new one for retail is a feat in itself?
Rolex forbids all its dealers from offering any discounts or promotions on its products. Your best bet is to buy it from a collector/reseller.
