Hi lads, I have just received an offerm from affirm for a SWD 1 position in Spain but the base salary is way lower than what I was expecting. In the current offer at LinkedIn it is said: The base salary range for this positions is: Min: 53,400€ Mid: 65,500€ Max: 77,500€ It is also stated that "Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range." I asked for 70k base salary as I performed well during the interviews. Recruiter asked if it was negotiable after the last interview and I said that we could discuss it via Zoom to reach some common ground. Then she sent me the offer with a base salary of 56k!!! For you to have an idea a new grad with 0 YOE would have an offer of minimum 54k. RSUs would be 1330 shares over the course of 3 years, so more or less +20k extra per year if stock price remains stable. Total TC would be 76k. I know it is still way more than what I am currently making, but the cut in the base salary seems ridiculous to me... Is there any room for negotiation, what should I say to her? I do not have any competing offers* YOE: 2 TC: 48k #tech #affirm #salary #negotiation
Make up a competing offer with higher base dude. Fk it lol they won’t know.
If you have a competing offer, use it to negotiate. Otherwise, why are you complaining about a 2x bump in your TC?
I am grateful about the offer, it is just that I was really expecting more. I felt I did well during the interviews and all my feedback was positive so It feels weird that I had been placed in the lower end of the min range
All offers start from the min-med range for base, and you can get raises without a promo. It'd be easier to nego the equity imo
