I am a frontend developer, Last week I saw an open role at Facebook for a software developer, I read the description carefully and realised I can meet all the requirements. But I am just freaked out to apply, I’ve got so many rejections in the past and I just don’t want another one to make me feel like shit.
I want facebook :(
Just to give you a data point, apart from the top 5% here, everyone fails more than one interview before they get another
I failed Instacart but got offers from Google and Facebook. Does that mean Instacart is better than FB/Google? Nope, it just means I got lucky with FB and Google. Past performance does not necessarily determine the future. You never know unless you try.
It's bad
Just do it. If you don't then you already rejected yourself
Facebook is on the way down anyways. Don't make yourself fail before trying, go for it. The level there is not that good from what I saw
Honest question, if Facebook is not that good in your opinion, what is?
OP seemed to put Facebook on a pedestal. I was replying that they are not where they used to be and definitely not on the same level anymore as top tier 1 companies (I know multiple people there that all confirmed) The events from the last couple months//years pushed anyone with a sense of ethics to leave. Also it is pretty clear that the stocks are not going to go to the moon again or even double now that everyone knows how bad the company culture is. As such the good tech leaders left for other companies that could provide moonshotting stocks.
I feel you. I am freakin’ out on leetcode. 😔😔😔😔😔
You're not afraid of working at Facebook. You're afraid of rejection. Pep talks and rationalization won't help. Just close your eyes and click send. DO IT B.ITCH
if you're scared of rejection and disappointment....can you really ever move forward or learn anything?
So then don't
