I had an onsite interview at Facebook 2 weeks ago and the recruiter told me the feedback had been positive so far. He was checking in with the hiring manager last week and I haven't heard anything back since then. Does this mean they've made another offer and are buying time or do things get delayed sometimes? I have another offer that they are aware of and I need to decide pretty quickly.
Let the fb recruiter know the deadline. Also depending on other company the recruiter might be ok waiting for fb to get back to as long as you frame it right. Eg: this is a big move for me, i intend to stay at my next gig for at least 4 years and want to make the best decision for my family by considering all the options i have. Also for other offer setup time to meet new manager and team. You need that before accepting anyway and recruiter wont expect you to sign without meeting them. As a bonus that will buy you time as well
FB doesn’t hire for teams. You choose your team during your bootcamp onboarding
Thank you! Great advice.
Absolutely "gently" remind your recruiter. I had the same situation. I told FB that the other offer had a hard deadline and they had a package out to me that day.
They haven't asked me for references yet. Would they bypass that in this scenario?
If you have friends at fb be proactive and share those anyway. Give your friends heads up as well to speed things up. Im not sure if external references matter.
Ah ok. Well good luck

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I think you should be aggressively following up with them
Thank you!
