I have a phone from India with an AirTel SIM that I was using here in the US. It was connecting to AT&T via international roaming. Recently it stopped connecting. AT&T said it was because they discontinued 3G on their network. I bought a new 4G phone and put the AirTel SIM in but it can't connect to the AT&T (or any other) network. Does anyone know how to get it working? Need it to get SMS messages from my India bank. Thanks
My Dad is visiting us in the US and he is using his Airtel SIM to receive OTPs on his Motorola smartphone that was originally bought here...
It shows TMobile as a network with Airtel SIM
What I have done is setup my SBI account to use my US phone number. So all OTP get to my Tmobile number. Netbanking is easier to pay for stuff in India. When I travel to India I usually use my Tmobile sim's data plan amd make whatsapp calls. I even did my entire 11 day Japan trip with just the Tmobile sim data roaming.
Indian banks accept US numbers for OTP?
Yes, I've setup my US number for ICICI NRE/NRO accounts.
Here’s what worked for me: 1. Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Network for the AIRTEL SIM. 2. By default, Automatic is selected. Turn off the Automatic option. 3. You will see a list of available carriers below the screen. Try connecting to each of them until you see a (even a faint one) network signal appear for the AIRTEL SIM.
