Does anyone run a successful Airbnb business? If so, where?
It depends on location and if you have something special but my downtown property wasn't giving any good yield, I rented it though. If it's cabin etc then it's good.
Have 2 apartments, one in tahoe and other in yosemite
How much do they make a year?
How do you manage them?
I’ve heard that Airbnb isn’t doing that well recently. Occupancies are low and people are preferring hotels. If you decide to get an Airbnb remember to buy a unique property with a moat. Also remember that if you are not doing self management you need to find a reliable company to do it and PM fees will be super high due to high turnover
Saw a lot of Airbnb bankruptcy on TikTok recently
In my 2br/2ba in SF I made about $4000 per month renting out my second bedroom in my condo, charging $150 per night. This was pre-pandemic however. I would have continued but it was a lot of cleaning and work.
I'm killing it on Airbnb. Made $94k revenue on a $700k property.
Where?
Why do you think it’s so successful compared to others here who complain of loss? Location?
I have a 400sq studio that grosses $5k to $7k a month. I use a property management company that handles nearly everything for 20% of gross excluding cleaning fees. Reliable cleaners are difficult to find and therefore are expensive.
Where?
I know a lot of ppl who run it successfully. You have to have a property in a location with a demand
Wow, really? Didn’t know that. 🙄
