I've heard some people say growth was flat at Airbnb but this would imply 65% yoy growth and ~45% growth over the next 3 years. Is this for real? Is experiences doing well? https://pitchbook.com/news/articles/airbnb-expects-28b-in-2017-revenue-85b-by-2020
That's less than I would've thought. High margins though I guess.
AirBNB is a house of cards
How so? Reliable revenue, growing, sticky users. Also we have a significant moat that our business is based on global dynamics. I.e. In travel, You want a one stop shop globally. Uber for example doesn't have global dynamics like this. They need to conquer every individual market because someone who rides in New York gives no shits about if it's available in Berlin. But an Airbnb guest user in NYC wants Airbnb to have properties everywhere. That's really hard for competitors to overcome.
Where is everyone getting these numbers 😂 Also no clue what kind of growth you're talking about getting measured. Users? Revenue? Amount of bookings?
Yeah revenue. Are you guys on track to hit 2.8b this year and 8.5 in 3 years. If so what are you going to do to hit it
I work on the team that makes all the money, and we're not really optimizing for revenue at the moment, there are other metrics we're driving towards.
