Is it safe to join Airbnb? Will they survive this year? They sent an email saying no refunds for new bookings even if coronavirus causes cancellations.
ask wise taco
Very unlikely
Do you really think it's unlikely the company will survive? It's a tough road to recovery, but I can't imagine being bankrupted by this Take the valuation with a grain of salt though š
I agree that Airbnb will survive for sure, but as an employee thereās higher risk of being laid off if the company wants to reduce the cost.
That's true! Take the risk as you will It's not a risk that's exclusive to Airbnb, but I agree it might be higher
Itās an elevated risk at Airbnb. However, if we honestly adjust our 409a, then you get paid for that risk in the form of a heavily discounted grant. First time in quite a few years that you might be able to get 6 figures of equity at maybe a 15 billion valuation. Might be worth considering if youāre not on h1b. If youāre on a visa, then Iād imagine the risk isnāt justified, but you do you!
I currently have an offer form Airbnb and FB. I know Airbnb has a lot of money in the š¦ so I'm not too concerned about the future of the company. I see Airbnb as a potential opportunity (vs FB) to have a lot of shares based on their new valuation. (Still haven't decided between FB & Airbnb though)
lmfao
Use your mind
Airbnb will start to lay off people this Thursday (plz lay off me and I want the severance). You will never want to join it for the next 4 yrs until it IPOs in 2024
