Hi all, in a peculiar situation where I find myself in a fortunate position at Airbnb with the ipo. However, I have two other opportunities and I am considering them: 1. Databricks:tc 700k depending on how you value equity 2. Netflix: comp around 600k 3. Airbnb (current): comp around 1.3m for next 2 years due to ipo Roles at all companies are for managing 8-10 engineers. Airbnb team is not growing. Databricks team should double soon. Netflix might see incremental growth in team size. Reasons for leaving: 1. Airbnb sucks for engineers. 2. No career growth: company is stagnant 3. Direct path to Managing managers opportunity at databricks 4. Interesting team at nflix 5. Good upside at databricks Any thoughts on how to make this decision? Really don’t want to stay at Airbnb but comp is truly golden handcuffs.#engineering #software #swe
YOE?
Just stfu and rest and vest you lucky bastard lol
Why would you add lol at the end of your own sentence?
The way I interpret this: "Just stfu and rest and vest you lucky bastard" - Bose is jealous "Just stfu and rest and vest you lucky bastard lol" - Bose is jealous but is impressed and happy for OP
L6 @ airbnb? (Looking at comp it seems like it can be high l5 or low l6 comp) We would also need to know the roles in each company to make an informed decision
Comp is rounded, I am l6. What would you like to know about roles?
How much is the stock in databricks? 700k sounds a lot.
What is “managing manager”?
Hey OP, mind if I PM you about Databricks?
Please feel free to.
Rest and vest. I don't think anyone can beat your current TC
Are you seriously asking blind to choose for you?
Databricks. Their ipo would sky rocket your equity.
What do you think they will ipo at? Market value?
