I'm talking to a recruiter about a SWE role at Airbyte. Seems like a great place to work looking at their employee handbook and Glassdoor rating. It's a series B startup that raised 150M last year, so I think they have a good runway in this environment. Anyone familiar with the company? Thoughts? @Airbyte
Interviewed with them in the past. They sounded like a good company but they actually had no headcount. Some of the openings they have on their website I think have no actual headcount, just faking to pose as growing. As a matter of fact I'm glad it went nowhere because I saw the founder pitching the product on French TV. It's a red flag to me because if you have time to pitch it in France it's because you have no other growth lever in the US. Finally the valuation is just nuts and there is no way they grow to it
Wow, that sucks
Aren't the founders French. Probably makes sense to be occasionally pitching there. For your interview, did they just drop you after the phonescreen or did they make you go through full on-site loop just to ghost you?

What's your YoE if you don't mind me asking? I know it has no relevance to your question. Just that I have applied there and haven't heard back.
8 yoe
they just had a layoff so….
Told ya.
How many? And what %?
Culture is not good but co-workers are smart. Leadership is lost on which direction to go and there's no way the company grows into the valuation. The company is now hybrid in SF (office is mandatory two days a week).
How far away do you have to live to be exempt from going to the SF office if you are a new hire?
Woof. Dodged a bullet
