I got an offer from Alexa Auto team Bay Area. L4, 6 YoE TC 245 Base 175, bonus 60K, 38 RSU 1. How is the management culture in the Alexa auto team? Is the pip culture bad there as well? 2. How good is the offer. 3. Are juniors treated bad in this division?
Also, since my TC is higher than a typical L4, will there be an “expectation” that my contribution be more than other L4?
1. Relatively new org so the culture might not have been established at an org level yet. Pip culture is the same across all Amazon but keep performing like you did in the interview and you wouldn’t have to worry about it. 2. The offer is damn good for an L4. Congrats. 3. No. In fact when I was a junior engineer here, I felt coddled and hand-held so much that I wanted to say “you know I am not in high school anymore” at times 😅.

I am just promoted L6 SDE in Alexa, and this is my TC for current year. It’s unbelievable. Great offer! But why still they offer you L4 is beyond my understanding.

I think I got this because of 6 YoE, I guess I did bad at system design. Recruiter said I will be promoted to L5 in a year of I do good. By joining with high salary am i risking anything?
