Is meta really worth the wait?
Amazon does get a lot of shit for 0 benefits. So wanted to make an active list. Coming from financial services like JPMorgan, USAA, Bank of America, the benefits we have here are much better. Amazon is a great place for L5, L6+. I will be leaving soon but definitely plan on coming back with when I get to L6 equivalent. We hired an L5 with 4 YoE for $383k TC and an L6 with 14 YoE for $640k. I've seen much more incredible offers too on Blind. Free psychiatrist sessions. I think it’s called the Employee Assistance Program. Decent healthcare plans. 4% 401k Match w/ Mega Backdoor ROTH $10k Annual Tuition Reimbursement (Yes, you can do this! Talk to you manager, it's part of your self-development employee budget) Free flights + $10k lump sum for initial relocation Access to LinuxAcademy, acloud.guru, and 50% off AWS exams. Free office setup, meaning you can expense Amazon for your desk, chair, speakers, monitor, etc. (Go to Concur). 10% off of Amazon.com products. extrasforamazon.com with car rental & travel perks (I get $28/day rentals) 35% off Bose products Free massages with healthcare plan On-site gyms Quite decent hotels and luxury car rentals for those who travel with Amazon but no business class travel. Very easy to switch between jobs/roles within Amazon Up to $200 in commuter benefit per month (mainly for those in Seattle, NYC, and but everyone can claim) Free cell phone plan reimbursement (apparently this expense doesn’t even go to your manager - it goes to another audit department). Home internet (WiFi) bill reimbursement Outstanding maternity/paternity leave (updated 2022) RSU refreshers Great promotion opportunities if you’re in the right team Bananas Moreover, sometimes your manager can throw in more perks. For instance, my manager lets everyone order Uber Eats / Doordash once a week and expense it without limits. Sometimes, there are training workshops or after-work activities that throw in a lot of perks. I attended some cybersecurity workshop for 3 days and learned a lot. They sent me a goodie bag worth at least $100 a couple weeks after. Let me know if I'm missing anything! TC: 160k (Including stock drop) YoE: 1 Texas
Which team?
All teams. I'm in an engineering team within the Sales org
Bananas!
If you're remote, be sure to ask if you can expense them from Whole Foods! 🍌🍌🍌
Nice Try, HR
4% 401 is a joke.. The 10k is only for associates.. Not all.. Any company does relocation. Cloud guru.? Seriously?
Asked my manager about expensing a phone for oncall pages and he basically told me to F off
lol
Do interns get these benefits as well?
Not stuff like 401k but others yes!
They don’t get the match.
This is sad
That mega back door wasn’t there till 2021. Good luck reimburse for education. Worse 401k ever…
3y to fully vest too yes?
Yeah and if you leave before 3 yr mark, Amazon will claw back. The $1000 was 10% off up to $100 SOLD AND FULFILLED by Amazon.
You made my day!!! Seriously needed that laugh today 😂😂
You forgot the most important one: Pee bottle
Amazon does drug testing for employees?
