Seems like due to DOJ lawsuit against FB that claims Facebook didn’t follow hiring practices and advertising for the Perm positions, no PERM application for Facebook has been approved since 2021 started. If you know international people who are joining Facebook tell them not to join right now and wait until this is resolved . This could be a big problem. I am already considering going back to my previous FANG because this is going to cause An unacceptable delay in my life
Source of the info that none of the 2021 perm apps have been approved? In any case, do perm application not take 4-6 months for approval, so why should we expect any of the 2021 apps to be approved
Karma always finds a way
I already know 1 friend which was approved, fake news
Currently Perm for July 2020 are being processed. So 2021 has a long way to go. Expect at least 6-9 months if you filed in Jan 2021
Right but no application since June 2020 for fb has been approved. What the post is trying to say is no approval has been made since 2021 for any application regardless of when it was filed.
Same being affected, not sure what I'm supposed to do now
My lawyer mentioned that they are waiting for DOL to approve job classification which is taking time. What is the expected time for that considering its a batch PERM?
Any updates on this? Are the PERM approvals for FB happening now?
"I am already considering going back to my previous FANG because this is going to cause An unacceptable delay in my life" -- Is it a workable way to use PERM in ex-employer ? I was told not really after talking to the ex-employer lawyer. There are three steps for PERM: 1. Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) Request 2. Placing Ads and Recruiting 3. Filing ETA Form 9089 are step1/2 delayed as well ?
Ideally if you are going back to previous employer with the same JD and previous title, and if your I-140 is not withdrawn, you should be able to file I-485.
Looks like not a practical way--I don't think they can provide the same JD and title unless to require doing this. btw, how to check I-140 is withdrawn or not ? High risk to be back to file 485, most like.
Is this a problem for those who already have a PERM?
