CEO said no off last all hands of 2022, and did lay off first all hands 2023. Incredible. Obviously the layoff was determined the same time the board decided to buy open robotics last December. The deal must be to clear the headcount out for acquisition via layoff. The leadership never took any responsibility of the mistake of vicarious acquisition, simply blamed layoff as pressure from Alphabet. Ugly, full of secrecy and lies of this place, folks who are still remaining, run!
Today?
Yes
Also 15% at Verily - guess it's time to trim unprofitable ventures. Ad revenue gets hit big time during recessions.
Verily did the layoffs as well.
Wait cuz of vicarious?
That’s good. Companies like Google need to tighten their belt during recession and the depression we are about to get into. Stock is down like 40% from its All time high Their first responsibility is towards the shareholders who own the company. NOT employees. Layoffs, although suck for employees.. are critical to preserve shareholders value in tough times like we are about to head into.
Ah that sucks. What is the severance package like and will people receive bonus and/or accelerated equity vests? I expect similar terms for Waymo and Google.
Options are worthless
Did not get 40/140. Is this an org?
yes. it's staff of an acquired company
vicarious?
