I don't really care about super high TC. I could live happily on 60k. I've done it before and know what's it like to be poor too, so I'm frugal and know how to budget. I don't want the high stress life of tech. I want to walk in, do some mindless busy work writing reports or some shit and then leave without worrying about tomorrow. I just want to live one day at a time. Its not worth it for me to retire at 45-50 if that means another 20 years of being miserable. But I don't know what else to do besides tech. I'm not skilled or educated in anything else. What would you do if you wanted to leave tech? Anyone from marketing/hr/accounting/sales/etc have a say?
Real estate appraiser. Very easy job, around $80K TC. Your job will be to go look at houses and write a report.
Thanks for offering the suggestion. I like the idea of working in real estate. It also offers learning opportunities in an area most people will have to deal with at one point in their lives. Any suggestions on how one breaks into real estate?
To become a real estate appraiser I believe you take a course and then take an exam to get your license. Then you can either get a job at an existing appraisal business or become an independent appraiser.
You lost me at $60k
Find a meticulous job, automate it, and then chill.
Dude ur company got acquired by SAP. now rest assured u have to do nothing. Just rest there
Qualtrics hasn't seen much change after acquisition. Besides a few integrations with SAP, I don't see Qualtrics engineering culture changing. Qualtrics is not incredibly difficult to relax, but it's a little more stressful than other big megacorp companies I've worked at.
Don’t worry. SAP will screw it over after acquisition.
No need to leave tech, just go work for Microsoft.
I had an offer from msft and Qualtrics. Chose Qualtrics because they paid more and I was in my "I need to be the best engineer ever and get that high TC in a fast moving environment". I have nothing against that, to be career focused, but I think Im getting older and have other things I enjoy more than work now.
