Am I being ghosted or this is normal at Walmart?
Hi All, I recenly applied for Data engineer 3 role at Walmart. After the phone screen, the recruiter told me she would follow up on scheduling next round but it has been a week and I did not receive any emails. Is this normal at Walmart ? #walmart
How was the phone screen? Did they ask SQL?
No. They asked about resume, walked me through the structure of the interviews and asked my salary expectation
What is your salary expectation? Maybe that's the issue.
What’s normal at Walmart is every day low prices. And that includes spending per employee.
lol. Do you think it is worth it to apply for other positions or the recruiter will eventually get back to me ?
They will. Some positions are more pressing than others
I had similar situation back in 2021 where I received about 7-8 HR calls initially all for different positions. I said same things in every call for every time. Every time they said If Hiring Manager likes your profile we contact you back. Anyway i got in walmart that too for the position i did not apply and i never had a call with HR either. I was reached out by engineering manager directly and she only setup my interview and then later HR got involved as i cleared interview.
I hope that even if the Hiring manager do not like my profile, they will still follow up so I can know the status of my application.
Same I experienced, recently I interviewed with them and it was my technical round with them, recruiter told she would follow up, I reached out regarding my feedback she just told I’m forwarding your resume to other recruiters and that’s all they haven’t responded me back. It’s so frustrating when someone keeps you on hold and never say either yes or no
Yes it is so frustrating especially when you are looking for new opportunity and this happened 😢

Yup in current market majority of the orgs in a company dont have clear approval of head counts so they are just navigating in dark which results in longer recruiting process
This market is tough.
