Hey guys, I applied to a Doordash role off LinkedIn where the salary was listed at 103-148k in areas of Seattle, Cali I spoke to HR and they mentioned their salary budget is 98-115k. I would be working remotely from ATL. Does this sound correct? Why would they have a job posting salary so off from what’s being offered? I tried to push for something higher but he wasn’t budging much. Should I continue with the interview and see if they’re willing to increase it at all if they want me to join their team enough? #salary #compensation YOE: 5 Role: strategy and operations (kinda like project management) Previously worked at Meta and have 1 year of PgM under my belt there
Atlanta is neither Seattle nor California. It’s common for the same job to be adjusted to different pay ranges in different areas based on factors like worker supply and prevailing wages in that territory as well as cost of living for the area
98k is a bit too low in my opinion. Meta was offering 112 in ATL
Hr is an agent who is taking advantage of you.. they always come up with lower numbers. You can continue the interview. If everything goes well and they want to give you offer then tell them that you got another offer for $140k .
HR is simply following direction from comp — they aren’t in charge of it fyi. Our teams would rather have more to offer - there’s no prize for short changing the candidate.
In this market you have no choice. Interview and get an offer and see.
Our HCOL band is 1.2 x our LCOL band, so it’s not too bad of a difference tbh
Yeah this is pretty standard… which I think is unfortunate, because LCOL workers do the same work has HCOL workers. But 🤷🏻♂️
What level? Associate Manager?
It doesn’t say associate it says manager
Putting ranges for jobs is still a relatively new thing, so it’s good to take with a grain of salt. Focus on the high side of the range. Is $115k enough for you.
Join the club. Doordash is also cheating 1000s of delivery drivers of their pay. And millions of customers by over priced menu.
Care to explain more? Particularly the driver part?
S&O is not project management FYI
They described it as so, what would you say it is? Also how easy is it to get your salary bumps at Doordash? They said they do salary increases twice a year but no bonuses
Hey just following up if you can provide more clarity!
I used to be a Tech Recruiter at DoorDash (before the layoffs). They adjusted it based on the cost of living in ATL. You won’t be on the west coast, therefore, they won’t pay you those numbers. It’s worth the ask but don’t get your hopes up.

Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
ATL is way lower cost of living
I get it’s cheaper but I was expecting the range of 120k 98 is pretty shocking to hear, there’s really no guarantee they won’t try to low ball me at 98k here.
98-114k is within the range they’ve posted. I assume they’d give somewhere around 108k (midpoint) and that’s within the range. You could ask them to give a range for Sea/CA and that will be a lot higher, hopefully
