I am 33 y/o male. Single, no serious relationship in sight. Can't even get dates. Doesn't have an ideal body, I'm quite skinny (mentioning because it's not healthy not because I don't feel at peace with my body). Barely got 275k in savings. Working for basically 🥜. Spent my early 20's chasing after patents, they do not benefit me single bit, because companies own them. Now I feel like I am stuck at my role/level. Looking after my pairs, old co-workers, I feel left behind real bad. They made progress either in personal life, like GF's , wife's, kids etc. Or financially like Bitcoin wave, stocks, house in the Bay. Or professionally big tech, high salary's, their own start-ups. I know exactly when I left chasing my dreams. It was my break-up and the next girl's behavior which I met few months after my break-up. But I couldn't get myself together after that. I am hang up on a lot of stuff from the past, not just relationships but missed job and investment opportunities too. I feel like the weight is getting heavier every day. Train is already gone and dream of catching up to is getting slimmer. I know it's not ideal to ask strangers of advice but I feel like I had to share. Because I am guessing I am not alone in such matter. Maybe just maybe one proper advice will help me turn things around.
Atleast you had past relationships. Im 33 just had 2 hookups . Nw is even not 1 million . Hate work and world
For guys, hookup seems way more challenging than securing relationships. Hookup relies on your physical appearance and being funny/interesting. Relationships rely less on good looks and more on resources and character. As women age, their requirements go down and tend to wanna settle down. What stops you from getting a relationship?
I am a full blown introvert and cant take rejection or make the first move.
It depends if you’re late or not. What’s in your wallet?
I don't understand if you have tons of patents, what made you unable to move to good paying companies like Google brain or Amazon science. Anyway, this might be useful for you.
I have only 3 patent not ton. 2 of which very company specific so it's quite useless when it comes to job search. But my main problem is motivation. As I was saying in the post, I kinda gave up on chasing my dreams. So interviews always ends up negative, either I do not prepare enough or can't fake enough interest. Thanks for the share, appreciated 🙏
That image fills my burnt out, tired heart with a lot of hope.
I can relate to the missed investments thing. Maybe you missed some in the past, but devote that energy to finding the new opportunity. For example, coinbase and the crypto miners both 2-3xed the past month (I of course missed). So try to find the next opportunity.

Rest of your life starts now. Figure out what goal matters most, then go after it. Repeat.
You’re 33. Average life expectancy is ~80 adjusted for socioeconomic status. You’ve got most of your life ahead of you. Get your head out of the hole it’s currently stuck in and think about what you’d like to change and go do it. Start small. One step at a time. You seem to be concerned about three things: wealth, social/marital life, and fitness. None of these things happen overnight. Do something small to improve your situation in each of those realms every day and in 3-5 years you’ll be much closer to where you want to be. Set a lofty goal of who you want to be in 5 years. That goal is for setting the direction you want to move toward. Now figure out what the smallest change you can make today to go in that direction. Do just that for a week or two. Reassess and adjust accordingly. Focus on today and tomorrow. You can’t change the past but you can change the present and future. Let go of all the issues you have with the past. What’s done is done. Don’t let that drag you down further.
Who lives till 80 . Not possible in tech
http://www.equality-of-opportunity.org/health/mobile_fig1.png Simple google search would have gotten you to that graph. You’re automatically in the top 5% by working in tech.
Lead yourself first
Are you in the bay? You gotta leave. Most people your age don’t make as much as you and have that much savings. You are fine. Tons of girls would marry you. Just leave whatever competitive city you’re in
Yes I am in the SF Bay Area. And I do agree, it's extremely competitive in every aspect of life.
It’s not competitive. It’s a shot hole. You don’t live a quality life unless you make millions a year. From my own experience living in bay are for 11 years.
Move out of the western democracies, take a long break preferably in Vietnam , Laos , Japan , Korea
Basically get lost cuz we tired of hearing about you problems
I near China, Venezuela, and North Korea are beautiful this time of year

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
Too late bro. Honestly the fact that you’re trying to masquerade this humblebrag means it’s definitely too late.
Which part of this do you think is a humblebrag ? Genuinely asking because that was not my intention one bit
Single, no kids, quarter milly in the bank. We get it, you're living the dream.
