Hi all, i joined amazon in this year, and i got a new manager 3 month after I joined. And it seems my manager doesn’t like for some on known reason. And in the 4 months my new manager said i’m not doing well and he suggest me to transfer to another team. And after that, each 1:1 he asked me whether I applied or not, and what’s the progress. And this week the team I applied told me that they can’t hire me due to need VP approval. And I did some research, and it seems if people on dev list then internal transfer requires VP approval... So looks like my manager has already put me on the list but didn’t tell me. And the funny thing is he encourage me to apply... is there any way for me to check whether I’m on the list or not? if I’m on the list, then there is no need to waste time to seek for internal transfer... it’s ridiculous that the new manager put me on the list just after 3months since I joined...
Wow, that's fucked up
Are you an L4 or an L5?
L5. I’m thinking I’m doing well before my manager told me I’m not doing well. As a new join, I started oncall on the 5th week and also working on a project and made the demo on the 6 weeks. If I’m on the list, then it means my new manager just put me on the list just within one month since he joined the team.
Op, Any update here?

On known reason or unknown reason? You should sit and talk to your manager openly and ask what his expectations are and start delivering. Also start prepping in parallel.
